Psychological assessment

What is psychological assessment?

Psychological assessment is used for evaluating within a few sessions the affective, psychological and intellectual characteristics of a child, an adolescent or an adult. It begins with an interview. Then some tests are used (an intelligence test giving an IQ, such as the Wppsi, the Wisc-IV or the Wais-IV and personality tests). It helps get a deep knowledge of the person and of his or her potential. One of the things that a psychological assessment can do is to confirm that the person is intellectually gifted. It also provides concrete answers on how to live well with one's personal characteristics.
