Choosing the right therapy

Choosing the right therapy

So many kinds of therapies...

Freudian psychoanalysis, lacanian psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, systemic psychotherapy, use of psychiatric medications, psychological support, therapeutic relaxation, coaching... There is a multitude of ways to deal with psychological suffering, and it is not always easy to find one's way around.

Choosing the right therapy

Each of these approaches has therapeutic indications. Depending on what prevents a person to "feel good", it is possible to determine the most appropriate therapeutic approach.

Psychological assessment enables to choose the most efficient therapy

Because it gives a thorough description of a person's cognitive, intellectual and psychological characteristics, psychological assessment is the only tool which enables to know precisely which therapy will benefit the person most.

Clinical psychologists and the choice of therapy

Clinical psychologists who propose psychological assessments have an objective look at the person. They guide the children, adolescents and adults whom they see in a neutral way.
